Which Confessions II song contains elements from Army of Lovers' My Army of Lovers?

The story behind the answer

The Confessions II song containing elements from Army of Lovers' “My Army of Lovers” is “My Sins Are My Savior.”

“My Army of Lovers” is a 1990 single by the Swedish dance group Army of Lovers. It appeared on the group’s debut album, Disco Extravaganza, and was also associated with the 1991 album Massive Luxury Overdose. The song combines disco, Eurodance and hip-hop influences, and its instrumental track reworks an earlier song by the group’s predecessor, Barbie.

Madonna’s “My Sins Are My Savior,” a hip-house piano track featuring Stromae, incorporates elements from that Army of Lovers recording. The connection is easy to confuse with other Confessions II sample and interpolation credits: “Betrayal” uses Erik Satie’s “Gnossienne No. 1,” while “I Feel So Free” draws on Lil Louis’s “French Kiss.”

The Army of Lovers reference also links two generations of European dance-pop. The earlier track was written by Alexander Bard, Tim Norell, Ola Håkansson, Anders Hansson and Peo Thyrén; the Madonna song transforms that source within a darker, more confessional setting.
