Who co-wrote and produced all Confessions II material with Madonna?
Answer
Stuart Price
Answer
Stuart Price
Stuart Price co-wrote and produced all the material on Madonna’s Confessions II. He was Madonna’s principal creative partner on the album and also served as its executive producer, engineer, and mixer on most tracks.
Price had already been central to Madonna’s 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, which they recorded largely in his London studio. That earlier collaboration established the continuous dance-record format and club-oriented sound that Confessions II deliberately revisits.
The sequel was developed after Price worked as musical director on Madonna’s Celebration Tour. Their renewed partnership led Madonna to ask him to help create a new dance album while she was waiting on other film and television projects. The pair worked primarily between New York and London, with Price handling much of the programming, keyboards, bass, drums, guitar, engineering, and mixing.
Several other producers and featured artists contributed to individual songs, including Arca, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, Tainy, Martin Garrix, Mirwais, Sabrina Carpenter, Feid, Stromae, and Lola Leon. That does not displace Price’s album-wide role: the common mix-up is confusing additional contributors with the central Madonna–Price partnership.
