Ubisoft publishes the Assassin's Creed video game series.
Ubisoft is a French video-game company founded in 1986 by the Guillemot family. Its Montreal studio developed the first Assassin’s Creed, while other Ubisoft studios have led or supported later entries. The company’s publishing role covers the main games and related franchise releases.
The first Assassin’s Creed appeared in 2007. Since then, Ubisoft has released games set in periods including Renaissance Italy, the American Revolution, the Caribbean’s Golden Age of Pir piracy, Victorian London, ancient Egypt, and Viking-era England.
Ubisoft is the publisher, but individual development responsibilities vary by game. Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Quebec, Ubisoft Sofia, Ubisoft Singapore, and other studios have contributed to the series. Electronic Arts, Square Enix, and Take-Two Interactive publish other major franchises, not Assassin’s Creed.
