Which company published South Park: The Stick of Truth?
Answer
Ubisoft
Answer
Ubisoft
Ubisoft published South Park: The Stick of Truth.
The role-playing game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment in collaboration with South Park Digital Studios and released in March 2014. Trey Parker and Matt Stone were deeply involved: they wrote the script, helped shape the design and voiced many characters. The game deliberately reproduces the television series’ visual style while sending the player through a fantasy role-playing adventure in South Park.
THQ originally partnered with Obsidian and was expected to publish the project. That arrangement changed after THQ filed for bankruptcy in December 2012. A bankruptcy court approved the sale of THQ’s assets in January 2013, and Ubisoft acquired the publishing rights. Ubisoft then revised the project and released it the following year.
This history creates the main possible mix-up. THQ is not the publisher credited for the finished release, even though it was the game’s original publisher and was involved during development. Electronic Arts and Acclaim were not the publishers of The Stick of Truth.
