Which company produced the original The Wonder Years with The Black/Marlens Company?
Answer
New World Television
New World Television produced the original The Wonder Years with The Black/Marlens Company.
The series was created by married writing partners Neal Marlens and Carol Black, whose earlier work included Growing Pains. Their concept placed an ordinary American boy against the social and political changes of the late 1960s, blending family comedy, teen drama, and adult reflection.
The Black/Marlens Company represented the creators’ production partnership, while New World Television supplied the larger television-production and distribution framework. ABC broadcast the series, but ABC is the network—not the production company asked for here.
A common mix-up comes from later versions of the franchise. The 2021 reboot was produced by companies including Lee Daniels Entertainment and 20th Television, neither of which produced the original 1988–1993 series. The original ran for six seasons and 115 episodes, debuting after Super Bowl XXII in January 1988.
