LVMH owns the luxury brands Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, and Tiffany & Co.
LVMH is the abbreviation for Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, a group formed in 1987 through the merger of fashion house Louis Vuitton with wine and spirits group Moët Hennessy. Bernard Arnault has led the group for decades, expanding its portfolio across luxury categories.
The group’s businesses include fashion and leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry, wines and spirits, selective retailing, and other activities. Its maisons retain distinct identities, so LVMH is a parent group rather than a single consumer brand.
LVMH completed its acquisition of Tiffany & Co. in 2021. Bulgari joined the group in 2011. Because luxury demand, currency movements, and investor expectations can change, LVMH’s market capitalization fluctuates even though its portfolio of brands is comparatively long-lived.
