Which company is the world’s largest brewer by sales volume?

The story behind the answer

Anheuser-Busch InBev is the world’s largest brewer by sales volume.

AB InBev was created in 2008 when Belgian-Brazilian brewer InBev acquired Anheuser-Busch, the American brewer behind Budweiser. The combined group later expanded further by acquiring SABMiller in 2016, making it the dominant global brewing company by volume.

Its portfolio includes Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, Beck’s, Michelob Ultra, and many regional labels. The group sells beer across a large international distribution network and is listed on Euronext Brussels.

Heineken is another global brewing giant and owns a large international brand portfolio, but it is not the same company. Rankings can differ if they measure revenue, volume, or the size of a single brand rather than the entire corporate group.
