Anheuser-Busch InBev is the world's largest brewer and became a major global business after acquiring SABMiller in 2016.
AB InBev was created through a series of large brewing mergers. Interbrew combined with AmBev in 2004, forming InBev, and InBev acquired Anheuser-Busch in 2008. The resulting company adopted the name Anheuser-Busch InBev, commonly shortened to AB InBev.
The company completed its acquisition of SABMiller in October 2016 after receiving regulatory approval and agreeing to sell certain assets. Its portfolio includes Budweiser, Stella Artois, Corona, Beck's, and Michelob Ultra, although brand ownership varies by market because of licensing and divestitures.
AB InBev can be confused with Anheuser-Busch, the American brewer it acquired. The former is the international parent company; the latter is a historic U.S. brewing business and brand family.
