Saudi Aramco is listed on Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul stock exchange under ticker symbol 2222.
Saudi Aramco, formally Saudi Arabian Oil Company, is the national oil company of Saudi Arabia and one of the world’s largest energy businesses. Its public listing gave investors access to a small portion of the company while the Saudi government retained majority ownership. Because of its enormous oil reserves and profits, its market capitalization has often placed it among the world’s most valuable companies.
The shares began trading on Tadawul in December 2019. The company’s core operations include crude-oil exploration, production, refining, chemicals, and energy distribution. It is often confused with Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, or SABIC, another major Saudi industrial company in which Aramco holds a controlling stake.
Tadawul is Saudi Arabia’s principal stock exchange. The ticker 2222 is therefore a useful identifying detail when distinguishing Aramco from other large Saudi-listed corporations.
