Which company developed the virtual-reality rhythm game Beat Saber?
Answer
Beat Games
Answer
Beat Games
Beat Games developed the virtual-reality rhythm game Beat Saber.
The Czech studio released Beat Saber in 2018. Players hold two virtual lightsabers and slash approaching blocks in time with music, matching each block’s direction and color. The game’s simple rules made it accessible while its timing and movement created a demanding physical challenge.
Beat Saber first appeared on PC-based VR platforms and PlayStation VR before reaching additional headsets. Facebook, later renamed Meta, acquired Beat Games in 2019, but the studio continued operating as a separate development team within the company’s VR organization.
The title is sometimes attributed to Oculus because it became closely associated with Meta’s headset ecosystem. Oculus and Meta distributed the game on their platforms, but Beat Games is the developer credited with creating it.
