Which company developed the GeForce graphics-processing-unit brand?

The story behind the answer

Nvidia developed the GeForce graphics-processing-unit brand.

GeForce is Nvidia's consumer graphics brand, first introduced in 1999. Graphics processing units, or GPUs, were originally associated mainly with rendering images for computer games, but Nvidia's programmable CUDA platform later made its hardware useful for scientific computing and artificial-intelligence workloads.

Nvidia was founded in 1993 by Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem. Its chips became especially important for training and running large machine-learning models, helping the company become one of the world's most valuable semiconductor businesses.

AMD's Radeon is a competing graphics brand, while Intel produces its own graphics hardware. Those names are sometimes confused with GeForce because all serve overlapping PC and computing markets. GeForce specifically identifies Nvidia's graphics products, not a general name for every GPU.
