Dasani is Coca-Cola’s bottled-water brand.
The Coca-Cola Company introduced Dasani in the United States in 1999. The brand uses purified water and adds minerals for taste. It became one of Coca-Cola’s major non-carbonated beverage brands as bottled water grew in popularity and consumers sought alternatives to sugary soft drinks.
Dasani is often confused with Smartwater because both are Coca-Cola-owned water brands. Smartwater is associated with vapor-distilled water and was acquired by Coca-Cola through its purchase of Glacéau in 2007. Dasani, by contrast, is the company’s mainstream purified-water brand.
