Palmeiras signed Jhon Arias from Wolverhampton Wanderers in February 2026.
The Colombian midfielder’s move was confirmed on 7 February 2026, only seven months after he joined Wolves. Palmeiras agreed a contract running through December 2029, bringing Arias back to Brazil after his brief spell in English football.
Before moving to Wolves, Arias became a major figure for Fluminense between 2021 and 2025. He helped the Rio club win the 2023 Copa Libertadores, the 2023 Recopa Sudamericana and two Campeonato Carioca titles. Fluminense supporters sometimes expected him to return there, but Palmeiras completed the deal instead.
Arias made 26 appearances for Wolves, scoring twice, before returning to South America. The common mix-up is confusing Palmeiras with Fluminense, his former Brazilian club, or assuming that a move from an English club must have been to another Premier League side.
