Which club signed Arijanet Muric from Ipswich Town in 2026?

The story behind the answer

Sassuolo signed Arijanet Muric from Ipswich Town in 2026.

Muric joined Sassuolo after spending the 2025–26 season in Italy on loan from Ipswich Town. Sassuolo’s agreement included an option to buy, and the club exercised it, making the goalkeeper’s transfer permanent on 1 June 2026.

The Kosovo international had joined Ipswich from Burnley in 2024 after building experience with Manchester City, NAC Breda, Girona, Willem II, Nottingham Forest and Adana Demirspor. His career has included several loans, so transfer descriptions can be easy to misread: Sassuolo was initially his loan club before becoming his permanent club.

Muric is a goalkeeper, not an outfield player, and the deal was completed between Ipswich and Sassuolo rather than involving one of the other Italian clubs listed as options. His move also reflects Sassuolo’s continued use of experienced goalkeepers while competing in Serie A.
