Manchester United visited Hull City in their first 2026–27 Premier League match.
The fixture was scheduled for Saturday, 22 August 2026, at Hull City’s MKM Stadium. Its 12:30 BST kick-off made it the first Saturday lunchtime match of the campaign and one of the opening weekend’s televised fixtures.
Hull City had returned to the Premier League after winning the Championship play-off final. Their promotion made the match a meeting between an established top-flight club and one of the division’s newly promoted sides. Hull were back in the top flight after a nine-year absence.
The fixture is easy to mix up with Ipswich Town versus Sunderland, another opening-weekend match involving a promoted club. It was also not played at Old Trafford: Manchester United began the season away from home, in Kingston upon Hull. The match’s scheduled broadcaster in the United Kingdom was TNT Sports.
