Rome serves as the main headquarters of the Assassins in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
The game continues Ezio Auditore's story after Assassin's Creed II and is set primarily in early sixteenth-century Rome. The city is controlled by the Borgia family, especially Cesare Borgia, whose military and political power drives the central conflict.
Ezio rebuilds the Italian Brotherhood from Rome. He recruits new Assassins, liberates districts, disrupts Borgia influence, and restores shops and services across the city. The headquarters develops at the Isola Tiberina, an island in the Tiber River.
Rome is the principal setting, although the game includes other locations and a modern-day section. Florence and Venice are strongly associated with Ezio because of Assassin's Creed II, but they are not Brotherhood's main headquarters. Brotherhood also introduced a major multiplayer mode alongside its single-player campaign.
