Paris is the main setting of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. The game opens with Lara Croft in the French capital after she is summoned by her former mentor, Werner von Croy.
Much of the early investigation takes place in Parisian streets, apartments, cafés, museums, and underground locations. The story later expands to Prague, where Lara continues pursuing the mystery surrounding the Obscura paintings and a series of murders.
Prague is therefore an important secondary setting, but it is not the main city introduced by the game’s opening chapters. Rome belongs prominently to Tomb Raider Chronicles and Tomb Raider II also includes an Italian section, making those locations common sources of confusion. The Angel of Darkness is especially associated with its darker Paris setting.
