Which Chromium-based security browser is made by Comodo Group?

The story behind the answer

The Chromium-based security browser made by Comodo Group is Comodo Dragon.

Released in 2010, Comodo Dragon was built from Chromium and designed to resemble Google Chrome while emphasizing security and privacy. It ran on Microsoft Windows and used the Blink rendering engine. Comodo promoted features such as extra checks on Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates and an optional switch to Comodo’s DNS servers.

Dragon was not the same product as Comodo IceDragon, another Comodo browser based on Mozilla Firefox rather than Chromium. It also removed or disabled several Google-linked features found in Chrome, including some tracking and automatic reporting functions. However, its privacy and security claims later attracted criticism after researchers reported serious vulnerabilities, including problems involving DNS settings and browser security controls.

The name can therefore be confusing: “Dragon” identifies Comodo’s Chromium-derived browser, while “IceDragon” identifies its Firefox-derived counterpart.
