Which Chinese technology company develops QQ Browser?
Answer
Tencent
Answer
Tencent
Tencent develops QQ Browser, a web browser from the Chinese technology company behind the QQ messaging platform.
QQ Browser grew out of Tencent’s earlier browser projects, including Tencent Explorer and Tencent Traveler (TT). Early versions used Microsoft’s Trident rendering engine, while later releases experimented with a dual-engine setup combining Trident and WebKit. Modern desktop versions are based on Chromium technology.
The name can cause confusion because QQ is also Tencent’s major instant-messaging brand, not a separate browser company. Alibaba, Baidu, and NetEase are also major Chinese technology firms with internet products, but they did not develop QQ Browser. Tencent released QQ Browser for desktop and mobile platforms, making it part of a broader ecosystem that includes messaging, search, media, and cloud services.
