Answer
CR400 series
Which Chinese high-speed train model is known as “Fuxing”? The CR400 series. Fuxing is the brand name used for China’s CR400AF and CR400BF high-speed electric multiple-unit trains.
The Chinese word Fuxing means “rejuvenation” or “revival.” China Railway introduced the name in June 2017, when CR400AF and CR400BF trainsets entered service on the Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway. They were presented as China-standard trains, designed and manufactured through a domestic engineering program rather than simply imported or assembled foreign designs.
The CR400 designation indicates a design speed of about 400 km/h, while the normal commercial operating speed on suitable routes is generally 350 km/h. The two principal variants, CR400AF and CR400BF, were developed by different Chinese manufacturers and use somewhat different technical platforms.
Fuxing is often confused with the earlier CRH families, such as CRH2 and CRH380A. Those are separate generations of Chinese high-speed trains. Fuxing trains have since gained many derivatives, including versions adapted for extreme cold, increased capacity and overnight operation.
