Cruz Ramirez wins the final race for Rust-eze Racing in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Lightning McQueen initially trains with Cruz, a younger trainer whose racing ability he has underestimated. After deciding to return to competition, Cruz becomes the team’s racer while Lightning takes on a mentoring role.

At the Florida 500, Cruz defeats Jackson Storm and wins the race in Lightning’s old number 95. Lightning’s plan allows Cruz to race in his place, and the victory gives her the opportunity to continue as a professional competitor.

The ending does not erase Lightning’s importance. He adopts a role inspired by Doc Hudson, combining racing experience with mentorship. Cruz then continues racing for Rust-eze, while Lightning receives a new paint design based on Doc’s Fabulous Hudson Hornet colors.
