Chick Hicks is Lightning McQueen’s main antagonist and rival in Pixar’s Cars.
Chick is a veteran race car competing for the Piston Cup. He is willing to use aggressive and unsportsmanlike tactics, including causing crashes, because he wants to defeat the established champion Strip Weathers and the newcomer Lightning.
The character’s green paint and moustache-like grille are part of his distinctive design. His signature racing number is 86, while Lightning McQueen races with number 95. Chick’s behavior contrasts with the sportsmanship that Lightning gradually learns from Doc Hudson and the people of Radiator Springs.
Chick Hicks is specific to the conflict of the original Cars film. Cars 3 introduces Jackson Storm as Lightning’s younger high-tech rival, while Cars 2 features Francesco Bernoulli as a major racing competitor.
