Caspian is the captain of the Dawn Treader in C.S. Lewis’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. King Caspian X leads the ship on a voyage across the eastern seas of Narnia to search for seven lords who were banished by his uncle.
Edmund and Lucy Pevensie join the expedition, as does their cousin Eustace Scrubb. Reepicheep, the courageous talking mouse, serves as an important member of the crew and hopes to reach Aslan’s country. These characters’ different roles can make the question easy to confuse.
The voyage is the fifth published Narnia book, appearing in 1952. It is the third book in the commonly used internal chronological order, after The Horse and His Boy and before The Silver Chair.
