Which character is Lightning McQueen’s futuristic rival in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen’s futuristic rival in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of highly engineered race cars. He is faster, more technologically advanced, and confident that older racers can no longer compete with modern training methods and performance data.

His dominance helps trigger Lightning’s decision to rebuild his career. With help from trainer Cruz Ramirez, Lightning experiments with new techniques and eventually confronts the question of whether victory requires remaining the driver on the track.

Storm is voiced in English by Armie Hammer. The character is distinct from Chick Hicks, Lightning’s aggressive rival in the first Cars film, and from Cal Weathers, a racer who appears as part of the older Piston Cup generation.
