Which Celine Dion song from Titanic topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998?
Answer
My Heart Will Go On
“My Heart Will Go On” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for Celine Dion in 1998.
The song served as the theme from James Cameron’s film Titanic and was written by James Horner with lyrics by Will Jennings. Dion’s recording became one of the best-known film songs in popular music and reached No. 1 in February 1998.
It won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song, as well as Grammy Awards including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The Titanic soundtrack also became one of the best-selling film albums ever.
Some listeners confuse it with Dion’s earlier U.S. chart-topper “The Power of Love,” but “My Heart Will Go On” was the song specifically associated with Titanic and its final scenes.
