Answer
Toyota TS050 Hybrid
Which car won Le Mans overall three straight years from 2018 through 2020? The Toyota TS050 Hybrid won all three races. Toyota’s No. 8 entry took the overall victory in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The TS050 was Toyota’s LMP1-H prototype for the FIA World Endurance Championship and replaced the TS040 Hybrid. Its 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 worked with an 8-megajoule hybrid system using lithium-ion batteries. The car debuted for the 2016 season and finally delivered Toyota’s first Le Mans victory in 2018.
The 2018 winning crew was Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso. They repeated the achievement in 2019, while Brendon Hartley replaced Alonso for the 2020 victory. Toyota achieved one-two finishes in each of those three editions, giving the TS050 an unusually dominant closing chapter.
A common mix-up is the Toyota GR010 Hybrid, which succeeded the TS050 under the new Hypercar rules and won in 2021 and 2022. The TS050 therefore belongs specifically to Toyota’s three-year LMP1 winning run, not its later Hypercar era.
