Which car becomes Lightning McQueen’s main racing rival in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm becomes Lightning McQueen’s main racing rival in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm is a high-tech next-generation racer whose speed and advanced training make him the leading threat to Lightning’s career. His arrival represents a new era in the Piston Cup, where computer modeling, simulation, and cutting-edge engineering increasingly influence racing performance.

Cars 3 follows Lightning as he struggles to remain competitive against younger racers. After a serious crash, he trains with Cruz Ramirez and revisits the lessons associated with the older generation of racers, including Doc Hudson.

Jackson Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. He is sometimes confused with Chick Hicks, Lightning’s aggressive rival from the first Cars film, or Francesco Bernoulli, the Italian racer featured prominently in Cars 2. Those characters belong to earlier conflicts in the series.
