Which canceled SNES Kirby prequel was planned to use the SNES Mouse?

The story behind the answer

Kid Kirby was the canceled SNES prequel planned to use the SNES Mouse.

The proposed game was intended for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and would have served as a prequel to the Kirby series. Unlike the released platform games, Kid Kirby was designed around Nintendo's SNES Mouse accessory, a control device better known for titles such as Mario Paint.

DMA Design, the Scottish studio later associated with the Grand Theft Auto series, developed the project. Kid Kirby was scheduled for release in 1995, but it was canceled as sales of the SNES Mouse declined. Early screenshots and development material have since circulated online, offering a glimpse at a Kirby game that never reached store shelves.

This is easy to mix up with other unreleased Kirby projects. Kirby Bowl 64 was a separate Nintendo 64-era concept, while Kirby Family was an unreleased Game Boy Color title. Kid Kirby is the one specifically linked to both a prequel role and SNES Mouse support.
