Hawthorne is the California city home to SpaceX headquarters.
SpaceX’s headquarters and rocket-development facilities are located in Hawthorne, in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. The company has operated there since its early years, developing launch vehicles, spacecraft, engines, and satellite systems at the site.
The Hawthorne complex is not SpaceX’s only important location. The company launches from facilities at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, and Starbase in South Texas. Its test and manufacturing operations have also expanded across several states.
Hawthorne is sometimes confused with nearby aerospace centers or with Palo Alto, a major technology hub in Silicon Valley. SpaceX’s headquarters address is in Hawthorne, while Tesla’s corporate headquarters has been associated with different locations over time.
