Which British girl group did 2026 Lollapalooza act Jade belong to before her solo career?

The story behind the answer

2026 Lollapalooza act JADE belonged to the British girl group Little Mix before beginning her solo career.

JADE is the solo name of Jade Thirlwall, who rose to fame after joining Little Mix on the British talent show The X Factor in 2011. The group was assembled during the competition from contestants who had originally auditioned as solo singers, and it went on to win the series.

Little Mix became one of Britain’s most successful girl groups, with members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and, originally, Jesy Nelson. Nelson left in 2020, after which the remaining trio continued until announcing a hiatus following their 2022 tour. That pause gave the members room to develop individual projects.

Thirlwall launched her solo era as JADE with “Angel of My Dreams” in 2024. The single introduced a more individual pop identity while retaining the vocal confidence associated with her group career. Girls Aloud and Sugababes are also British girl groups, but neither was Thirlwall’s former group; Fifth Harmony was an American group.
