BTS won the 2019 Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist for the third consecutive year.
The award was presented at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. BTS had first won the fan-voted category in 2017, then repeated the achievement in 2018 and 2019 as its international online following expanded.
The Top Social Artist award measures fan engagement and social activity rather than a conventional sales or radio chart alone. BTS competed against major international acts, making the three-year run an important marker of its global digital reach.
BTS’s 2019 appearance also included a performance with Halsey of “Boy With Luv,” the lead single from the group’s album Map of the Soul: Persona. The group later continued its Billboard award success in other categories.
