Which boy band released the 1996 album Home Again, featuring “Hit Me Off”?

New Edition released the 1996 album Home Again, featuring “Hit Me Off.”

Home Again was New Edition’s sixth studio album and their first album after the group’s members had pursued major solo and spin-off projects. It was released by MCA Records on September 10, 1996.

The album reunited the group’s classic five-member lineup: Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, and Johnny Gill. Its lead single, “Hit Me Off,” brought New Edition back to the charts with a contemporary R&B sound.

The record is sometimes confused with the similarly titled album Home Again by other artists. In New Edition’s catalog, Home Again is especially notable because it marked the original core lineup’s return after years of separate projects and helped lead to a major reunion tour.
