Boyz II Men recorded “I’ll Make Love to You,” which became a 1994 US Billboard Hot 100 number-one single.
The ballad was written and produced by Babyface and released as the lead single from Boyz II Men’s second album, II. Its polished vocal arrangement and romantic lyrics made it one of the group’s best-known recordings.
“I’ll Make Love to You” spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It followed the group’s earlier success with “End of the Road,” but the two songs are separate chart achievements and came from different album eras.
The song is sometimes confused with All-4-One’s “I Swear,” another prominent 1990s harmony ballad. Boyz II Men’s recording is the one that topped the Hot 100 for 14 weeks and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
