Which bounty hunter was the genetic template for the clone army in Star Wars?

The story behind the answer

Which bounty hunter was the genetic template for the clone army in Star Wars? Jango Fett was the genetic template for the Republic’s clone army. In Attack of the Clones, the Kaminoans use his DNA to produce the soldiers who will become the Grand Army of the Republic.

Jango was selected by Count Dooku, operating under the alias Darth Tyranus, as the template for the clones. In exchange, Jango requested an unaltered clone to raise as his son: Boba Fett. The Kaminoans modified the clones to age at twice the normal rate and to be more obedient and easier to command.

A common mix-up is choosing Boba Fett. Boba is Jango’s unaltered clone son, not the original genetic template. Bossk and Cad Bane are also bounty hunters, but neither provided the DNA for the Republic army. Jango’s role is revealed on Kamino before the Clone Wars begin at Geonosis.
