What is George Lucas's birth date?

George Lucas was born on May 14, 1944.

His full name is George Walton Lucas Jr., and he was born in Modesto, California. He grew up in the city’s agricultural Central Valley setting, where his early interests included comic books, science fiction, and the Flash Gordon serials that later influenced his filmmaking.

Lucas initially imagined becoming a race-car driver and spent much of his youth around garages and underground racing. A serious 1962 car crash shortly before high-school graduation changed that path; after recovering, he became increasingly interested in filmmaking and attended Modesto Junior College before transferring to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

The date is sometimes confused with dates associated with Lucas’s films or family members. May 14 is his birth date, while the famous Star Wars creator’s career spans student filmmaking, American Graffiti, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and the founding of Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, and THX.
