“Is This Love” was released as a single from Bob Marley and the Wailers’ 1978 album Kaya and became a UK hit.
The song is one of Marley’s best-known love songs. Its warm melody and direct lyrics helped show the romantic side of his songwriting, alongside the political and spiritual themes often associated with his catalog.
“Is This Love” was released on the Kaya album, which followed Exodus. The song later gained further visibility through a memorable music video featuring Marley, the I Threes, and model Esther Anderson. It remains a frequent entry point for listeners discovering Marley’s music.
The title is sometimes mixed up with “Satisfy My Soul,” another Kaya track. Both songs concern love and emotional connection, but “Is This Love” is the single whose title became one of Marley’s most recognizable questions.
