Bob Marley and the Wailers released the album Kaya in 1978, including “Is This Love.”
Kaya was the group’s tenth studio album and followed the politically focused Exodus. Its songs often emphasize love, spirituality, and cannabis, giving the record a comparatively relaxed character while retaining Marley’s reggae sound.
The album was recorded partly in London during the period when Marley and the Wailers were building a large international audience. “Is This Love” became one of Marley’s best-known songs and was also issued as a single.
Kaya is sometimes mixed up with Exodus because both albums belong to the same highly influential late-1970s period. Exodus was released in 1977, whereas Kaya appeared the following year.
