Bob Marley’s 1980 album Uprising included “Could You Be Loved.”
Uprising was Marley’s ninth and final studio album released during his lifetime. It combined reggae rhythms with religious imagery, social themes, and songs that became central to his late career, including “Redemption Song,” “Forever Loving Jah,” and “Could You Be Loved.”
The album followed Survival, released in 1979, and appeared as Marley’s international profile continued to grow. “Could You Be Loved” became one of the best-known songs associated with the record and remained popular in later compilations and performances.
Uprising is sometimes confused with Confrontation, a posthumous studio album released in 1983. Uprising was released while Marley was alive; Confrontation was assembled and issued after his death.
