Which Billy Joel album has cover artwork painted by Christie Brinkley? River of Dreams has cover artwork painted by Christie Brinkley.

River of Dreams is Billy Joel’s twelfth studio album, released on August 10, 1993. Brinkley, who was Joel’s wife at the time, created the painting used for the cover. Her involvement made the artwork especially memorable because she was already internationally famous as a model, yet the cover credit highlights her work as a painter rather than as a photographic subject.

The album marked a more serious period in Joel’s songwriting. Its themes include trust, lasting love, betrayal, and strained relationships. It became Joel’s fourth album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, holding the top position for three consecutive weeks.

Readers sometimes confuse the album title with “The River of Dreams,” its best-known single. The song is part of the album, but the artwork belongs to the full album release. River of Dreams was also Joel’s last studio album of original pop-rock material; his later 2001 release, Fantasies & Delusions, consisted of classical piano compositions.
