Which Beyoncé song features a prominent vocal sample from “Are You My Woman”?

Beyoncé’s song “Crazy in Love” features a prominent vocal sample from “Are You My Woman.”

“Crazy in Love” was released in 2003 as the lead single from Dangerously in Love. The track was produced by Rich Harrison and Beyoncé, with Jay-Z contributing a rap verse. Its instantly recognizable horn arrangement is built around a sample from “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)” by the Chicago soul group the Chi-Lites.

The song became Beyoncé’s first number-one single as a solo artist in the United States. It also won Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

The sampled recording is often described simply as “Are You My Woman,” but the full title includes the parenthetical “Tell Me So.” That distinction separates it from other songs using the same sample.
