B’Day features Beyoncé’s song “Irreplaceable.”
B’Day was Beyoncé’s second solo studio album and was released in 2006, around her 25th birthday. The album’s title is a wordplay combining “birthday” with the abbreviation commonly used for Beyoncé. It followed her successful solo debut, Dangerously in Love.
“Irreplaceable” became one of the album’s biggest hits. Its opening line, “To the left, to the left,” became widely recognizable, and the song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also included “Déjà Vu,” featuring Jay-Z, and “Beautiful Liar,” a duet with Shakira on a later deluxe edition.
B’Day received the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The song is sometimes incorrectly placed on I Am... Sasha Fierce because both albums contain major Beyoncé ballads, but “Irreplaceable” belongs to the B’Day era.
