Which Berkshire Hathaway chairman is famous for long-term value investing and is nicknamed the Oracle of Omaha?

The story behind the answer

Warren Buffett is the Berkshire Hathaway chairman famous for long-term value investing and nicknamed the Oracle of Omaha.

Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1930 and developed an interest in business and investing during childhood. He studied under Benjamin Graham at Columbia Business School, where he absorbed the idea of buying securities for less than their underlying value.

Buffett became a major shareholder in Berkshire Hathaway, a struggling textile company, and eventually transformed it into a diversified holding company. Berkshire owns operating businesses and large portfolios of publicly traded shares. Its insurance operations provide a pool of funds, known as float, that supports investment activity.

Charlie Munger was Buffett's longtime business partner, but the two men are not the same person. Buffett's annual shareholder meetings in Omaha attract investors from around the world and are sometimes called the Woodstock of Capitalism.
