Which Belgian winger left Arsenal for Besiktas in the 2026 summer window?

The story behind the answer

Leandro Trossard was the Belgian winger who left Arsenal for Beşiktaş in the 2026 summer window.

Trossard began his senior career in Belgium with Genk, where he developed into an attacking wide player capable of operating on either flank or through the middle. He later made his Premier League reputation at Brighton & Hove Albion, becoming known for his movement, finishing and ability to create chances from the left.

Arsenal signed him from Brighton in January 2023. His versatility made him especially useful: he could start as a winger, play as a false nine or arrive late into scoring positions. He contributed goals and assists during Arsenal’s domestic and European campaigns before completing his permanent move to Beşiktaş in July 2026.

The main mix-up is with Jeremy Doku, another Belgian winger, but Doku is associated with Manchester City rather than Arsenal. Yannick Carrasco and Charles De Ketelaere are also Belgian attackers, yet neither was Arsenal’s departing player in this transfer.
