Which bear Muppet is Baby Bear's little sister?
Answer
Curly Bear
Answer
Curly Bear
Curly Bear is Baby Bear's little sister.
Curly Bear is the youngest daughter in Sesame Street's family of storybook bears and Baby Bear's little sister. The family is based on the bears from the traditional “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” tale, but Sesame Street gives them continuing personalities and family relationships of their own.
Curly was created to address the theme of sibling rivalry. She calls her older brother “Bebo,” has an unusually loud growl, and stands out from the rest of her family because she does not like porridge. Those details turn the familiar Three Bears setup into material for stories about sharing, frustration, affection, and getting along with a younger sibling.
The most common mix-up is choosing Goldilocks, the human girl from the original fairy tale. Goldilocks is not Baby Bear's sister; Curly Bear is. Mama Bear is their mother, while Papa Bear is their father. Curly has also been performed by Stephanie D'Abruzzo, who has portrayed several Sesame Street characters over her career.
