Which band recorded the song “Life Is a Highway” for Pixar's Cars soundtrack?

Rascal Flatts recorded “Life Is a Highway” for Pixar's Cars soundtrack.

The country group recorded a new version of the song originally written and performed by Canadian musician Tom Cochrane. In Cars, the track plays during a lively road-trip sequence as Lightning McQueen and Mack travel toward California. Its lyrics and driving rhythm made it a natural fit for a film centered on highways, racing, and the changing American roadside.

Rascal Flatts' recording became strongly associated with the movie and introduced the song to a new generation. The group's version was released as a single in 2006 and became a major country hit. A common mix-up is crediting Tom Cochrane for the Cars recording: Cochrane wrote and originally recorded the song, but Rascal Flatts performed the version used in the film.
