Which award did Cars win as the first recipient of its category at the Golden Globes?

Cars won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

At the 64th Golden Globe Awards in 2007, Cars became the first winner of the newly established Best Animated Feature Film category. The award recognized the 2006 film alongside its broader critical and commercial success.

The category was created to honor animated feature films separately from the Golden Globes’ other motion-picture categories. Cars competed in the new category against other animated releases from the same awards season and received the inaugural trophy.

Cars also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, although it did not win that Oscar. The Golden Globe result is therefore a specific distinction: it was the first winner of that Golden Globe category, not the first animated film ever recognized by the organization.
