Which automaker produces the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y?

The story behind the answer

Tesla produces the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.

Tesla was founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, while Elon Musk joined shortly afterward as an early investor and chairman. The company’s first production vehicle was the Roadster, introduced in 2008.

The Model S is a luxury sedan, the Model 3 is a mass-market-oriented sedan, the Model X is an SUV with distinctive falcon-wing doors, and the Model Y is a compact crossover. Together, the four names became Tesla’s best-known passenger-vehicle lineup.

Tesla’s market capitalization has often exceeded that of much larger traditional automakers because investors value its electric-vehicle technology, software, energy products, and potential future growth.
