Which automaker produced the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y?

The story behind the answer

Tesla produced the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.

Tesla, Inc. is an American electric-vehicle and clean-energy company. Its principal vehicle lineup includes the Model S sedan, Model 3 sedan, Model X sport utility vehicle, and Model Y crossover. Together, the four names are sometimes informally called Tesla’s “S3XY” lineup, based on their letters and numbers.

Tesla was founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, while Elon Musk joined as an early investor and became chairman and later chief executive. The company’s rapid growth in electric vehicles made it one of the most valuable automakers by market capitalization. Market value is not the same as production volume: traditional automakers have often manufactured more vehicles, even when Tesla’s stock valuation was higher.
