Mirage is the Autobot master of disguise who transforms into a blue-and-white Formula One-style sports car.
In the original Transformers continuity, Mirage’s alternate mode is based on the Ligier JS11 Formula One racer. His sleek racing-car disguise reflects his speed and elegant design, while his special ability lets him create convincing holographic images and become nearly invisible. That combination makes him one of the franchise’s most literal “robots in disguise.”
Mirage is sometimes confused with other fast Autobots. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe transform into Lamborghini Countaches, while Jazz is associated with a Porsche 935 Turbo in Generation 1. Later Transformers continuities redesign Mirage extensively, including versions that become different race cars or sports cars, so the exact vehicle can vary by series.
