Which Australian TV network originally aired Bluey?
Answer
ABC Kids
Answer
ABC Kids
Which Australian TV network originally aired Bluey? It originally aired on ABC Kids.
Bluey premiered in Australia on the ABC’s children’s channel, ABC Kids, in October 2018. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation co-commissioned the series with the BBC, while Brisbane-based Ludo Studio produced it. ABC Kids therefore refers to the original Australian broadcaster and children’s television brand, not an overseas distributor.
The show was also made available through ABC iview, the ABC’s streaming service. That can create confusion in questions about where Bluey first appeared: ABC iview was a digital viewing platform, while ABC Kids was the television channel associated with the original broadcast.
International audiences later encountered Bluey through different partners, especially BBC Studios distribution and Disney platforms in many territories. PBS Kids, Nickelodeon and Disney Junior were not the Australian network that launched the series. The answer remains ABC Kids even though the programme now has a much broader global home.
